Ever hear of the saying that there is a fine line between love and hate? It’s so ironic. And supposedly you can’t really hate someone who you never loved. Honestly though, I don’t think I’ve ever hated anyone. I’ve disliked people, but hate is such a strong word. I guess no one I ever loved ever did anything to make me hate them. Well… umm…
In any case, I wanted to write about spoofing. Spoofing is the act of changing the Caller ID to show any desired number on a recipient’s Caller ID display (http://www.calleridspoofing.info/). My ex had been calling me non-stop and I wouldn't answer the calls. Then just yesterday, he discovered spoofing. I got a call from my mother on my cell phone. I answered it and it turned out to be my ex! He had also called with other numbers that weren’t his. They didn’t come up as restricted numbers, but rather numbers of people I knew.
Unfortunately, trapcall.com doesn’t reveal the telephone number of the person doing the spoofing; it only provides the ability to reveal restricted numbers. What’s just as disturbing, if not more so, is that someone can use your phone number to make calls. I think that this would be the phone equivalent of someone hacking into your email and spamming all your friends. Technology could be good in some ways and really insane in other ways. I think because technology is relatively new, there are so many glitches that still need to be worked on. I’m sure that by the time our children are adults, most of this would be ironed out.
Going back to the topic of relationships, it’s sad that a person would do horrible things to the very person he would have once done anything for. And sometimes you have to be protected from the person who would have once done everything he could do to protect you. Love makes a person do crazy things, but hate also makes a person do crazy things. I guess they are similar in a sense after all…
